Luberon - Gordes

Had the most magical time in France this summer. The vibrant landscapes, rich history, and captivating art scenes provided an endless source of inspiration. The Luberon region was indeed everything we hoped for and more. If you never heard about it, it is the Tuscany of France. The land of lavender, vineyards, hill-top villages, daily markets, perfect light, stunning weather and breathtaking views. Life here is enjoyably slow or full of adventure if you prefer.

We wandered through these charming villages below, where each corner revealed a new discovery and it was just the perfect atmosphere to celebrate 25 years of marriage.

Gordes

Gordes: Perched on a rocky outcrop, Gordes is known for its stunning stone buildings and panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The village features narrow streets lined with artisanal shops, quaint cafes, and the impressive Sénanque Abbey nearby, surrounded by fragrant lavender fields.

Professional Photography in Provence

We hired a professional photographer to take pictures of us since we were celebrating 25 years of marriage. Ashley from @curiousprovence was not only exceptional at capturing moments, but she is also an artist in her own right. Visiting her gorgeous studio was a delight; we shared coffee, croissants, and stories that added warmth to our experience. I highly recommend her if you are looking to eternalize your trip with beautiful pictures. The combination of artistry and personal connection made for an unforgettable celebration of our history together.

Where did we stay in the Luberon Region?

Beaumettes: a small village in Vaucluse strategically located in one of the most beautiful parts of the Luberon. And when I say small I mean literally one street. So if you are looking for a place with lots restaurants, people and stores, this is not for you.

Why did I stay here:

  • Location: between Gordes and Menerbes and between Bonnieux and Cavaillon.

  • Au Ralenti du Lierre Boutique B&B on a historical building, beautifully remodeled that kept it's charm but still provides the comforts of a modern hotel. Delicious breakfast (best homemade yogurt I ever had). I was obsessed with all the antiques like doors, hardware, art and furniture. The rooms are great with comfy beds and pillows, quality sheets, and clean bathrooms. You can see pictures of the facilities on booking.com

Must Tries

Let’s be honest, you will find good restaurants, wines, pastries, cheeses, cold cuts everywhere in France but here are a few favorites of mine in case you don’t know where to start.

  • Fromage de chèvre - delicious goat cheese that I will remember forever

  • Various type of honey - you will be surprised to discover real honey

  • Tapenade - simply delicious
